Pokemon Go, is one of Nintendo’s first smartphone games that has gone crazily Viral and got people walking out and about searching for pokemons. It was released in Australia, New Zealand, and the US just a few days back and already got millions and millions of downloads and active players.

Pokémon was Nintendo’s very popular game which asked players to travel to a fictional world in order to collect creatures out there. Nintendo and Niantic Labs have now teamed up to create Pokemon Go where the aim is to catch Pokémon in this real world we live in, thanks to a combination of GPS, augmented reality, and graphics.

Playing this game in India will depend on how stable your Internet connection is as chances are that if you are living or working on upper floors or travelling by train or in bad network coverage, you may have problems playing this game. In Major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, etc the game may be totally unresponsive because of poor Internet connectivity. If you’re on 2G network or outside a 3G network you will not be able to play this game. If you are in a 3G network but the signal is too week then the game will take time to load.

As the game requires you to walk outside, plug in your headphones and keep looking at your phone and you will start seeing Pokestops, Pokemon Gyms and of course wild and rare Pokemon while you walk about. The basic idea of the game is that you have to walk about your office / Building, street, locality, city and about in search of these Pokemons. As the game constantly needs both Internet and location access, it is a big drain on your phone battery and you may need to carry a few power banks with you while playing this game.

Since the game is only officially available in Australia, New-Zealand and US and not in India, the game’s APK file is available for download, and it works on Android devices in India.

If you are using a Computer or Laptop then attach your phone via USB and copy file to the Downloads folder. On your phone go to Settings >> Security and allow for the installation of apps from unknown sources. Go to the Downloads folder on your phone and install it and play. You can download the apk file from: https://apkpure.com/pokémon-go/com.nianticlabs.pokemongo

After signing up in the game, you can customize your digital avatar. You can choose your gender, eye/hair color, shirt, hat, pants, shoes, and your backpack, etc. Once you’ve done so, you’ll enter the main area of the game which is The Pokémon Go map.

The main area of the game is an animated version of Google Maps where you will see unmarked roads, rustling grass (indicating the presence of Pokémon in the area), and local landmarks disguised as PokéStops and Pokémon Gyms. As you move in the real world, your digital avatar also moves around. Pokémon will pop up on your map with a small vibration as you walk along, and you can try to capture them by tapping on them.

Why don’t you try downloading the APK and play the game and find out more for yourself? Just be careful while walking about with your eyes locked on the screen as you may put yourself is some real danger.
