In James Franco and Seth Rogen’s comedy movie ‘The Interview’, the North Korean dictator is made the butt of all jokes with brilliantly peppered sarcastic humor. Sony pictures were immediately hacked in retaliation by the oppressive regime forcing the makers of the movie to stop screening in theatres.
The tyrannical Dictator it seems does not like sarcasm as he feels much of it is directed towards him. He feels that his citizens make fun of him and ridicule him and wants to put an end to it so that no one every talks bad about him.
It is a well known fact that the Mad Hatter blames America for everything so in his kingdom whenever anything goes wrong, people sarcastically joke saying “This is all America’s fault” and secretly laugh at the Dictator.
Kim Jong Un has thus banned his citizens from using sarcasm in their day to day conversations in a crackdown on criticism of his iron fisted leadership. North Korean officials held numerous mass meetings across the oppressed country to warn citizens that criticizing the state via indirect, ironic statements are illegal and punishable. Any criticism or jokes on the leader or his government will result in your entire family disappearing and ending up in prison.
Radio Free Asia’s Korean Services quoted a source as saying. “One state security official personally organized a meeting to alert local residents to potential ‘hostile actions’ by internal rebellious elements,”
“The main point of the lecture was ‘keep your mouths shut’.”
“This habit of the central authorities of blaming the wrong country when a problem’s cause obviously lies elsewhere has led citizens to mock the party,” the source told Radio Free Asia.
People who by now are used to official diktat are now keeping shut fearing for their lives and that of their families.
