Motion control is revolution when it comes to smart computing, the invention is a big step towards the future in human and computer interaction. However, this is not only limited to computing as motion control technology has become an important part of robotics as remote control technology in robotics has its limits, with the use of motion control technology in robotics. This technology was first introduced is applied on motion controllers.

Motion control is a part of automation, in which the functions of the machine will be controlled by some device so basically the inputs given by the user is through a motion controller which will make the machine to work. Motion control is based on General Motion Control (GMC). Motion Control includes every technology related to the movements of objects, it covers motion systems from silicon-type micro induction systems to micro-siml systems used for space research. However, the developers are now concentrating on special control technology of motion systems.

Special control technology is a vast field and this includes the new sensation of Leap Motion Technology. Leap Motion Technology uses the process of Electric Field Sensing. This is a process of proximity sensing which includes mapping of size, shape and density. So basically, this process incorporates three-dimensional sensing with high precision and fast update rates. In this technology the biggest breakthrough is that due to three dimensional sensing, the user does not need to use any additional device to give inputs to the machine or computer as the technology maps the human bulk conductivity.

Leap Motion technology and its application.

Leap motion technology is based on Electronic field sensing, this uses small metal electrodes which are connected to oscillators that produce AC current (Alternating Current) fields. So, when any object which conducts current comes within the vicinity of the electrodes, the field has a disturbance. Now, this change in the electric field is mapped and measured by small detectors which interpret the patterns of the change and then according to these patterns, the end receptors manipulate the gesture of the object and act accordingly.

Leap motion technology can create fine detailed images through highly functioning Electronic field sensors, the proximity sensors are designed on the basis of devices such as the radar, sonar, and the magnetometer; so fooling the EF sensors with unrecognized objects is almost impossible. However, the EF sensors do not read the motion of bad conductors of electricity, such as wood, glass and paper.

However, the success of leap motion technology is not so resounding as there is room for vast improvement. Moreover, bringing this technology to every household is going to take a lot of time as the technicalities of the technology and how it can be used for personal benefit is not completely understood by the majority of the population. Moreover, the technology can be very useful for other than personal use, in industrial sectors such as automobile industry, aerospace industry, packaging industry and in industries which require the use of robots for manufacturing purposes.
